Note that today, un-announced, the CWGC completely changed the way its search engine operates. There is a new URL for searches:
http://www.cwgc.org/Search-Our-Records.aspx The syntax for the URL of all casualty entries has also changed, which means all previous CWGC links to casualties do not work. This means things like Geoff's Search Engine does not function anymore. On the plus side all pages can now be downloaded in pdf format, but in some respects that is more of a gimmick than anything really useful. Must say I find this surprising, and not a little frustrating. -------------------- Passchendaele Remembered: my new site for the 90th Anniversary - http://www.ypres-1917.com/

That's bad news indeed...
It's true, all posted links at different forums I'm on, don't work anymore... |

And I thought that Geoff had spent a considerable amount of effort in re-doing his search engine. For me it will also cause a problem as my preferred Web Browser objects to pdf downloads!
Just tried it, don't like it as much as previously. Bernard |

My PC at work never did like CWGC and took forever to open a page, but now that the site has changed I cannot get past the incessant error messages. I hope for better results at home.
Thank goodness I resisted the urge to include hyperlinks to the site in my database! I hope the change is the ground floor of something much bigger in the improvements department, otherwise it will be change for the sake of change, and I have never seen the point of that. I will wait and see. Cheers, Nigel -------------------- Remembering the men of Barwick in Elmet & Scholes, Leeds who left all that was dear to them and did not return.

They have reverted to the old Search for now, and so Geoff's SE is working again, but use it while you can, as I suspect the 'new' version will return very soon and Geoff's work will once again be redundant.
