In the GWF I posted pictures of War memorials I came across in Australia. In view of the NZ memorials I have visited in The Salient, I thought it appropriate to post the NZ memorials here.
Two pictures from Christchurch NZ. the first is the memorial bridge. Attached Image ![]() |

Across the more rural areas of NZ there are a variety of War Memorials. An archway next the roadway and this structure next to the road junction at Fairlie on the south Island.

Some memorials appear in the midst of nowhere whereas others are in the relative township. I've noticed one or two in this style.

At Dunedin towards the south of the South Island there is a large cenetaph but on a nearby hill is this soldier. I'm unsure about who it remembers but the enclosed picture provides a reasonable close up.

And an example of one of the memorials 'out in the sticks'. this one was in the Catlins deep down in the south of South Island.

I mentioned the construction of Remembrance Arches, here is one in Queenstown, South Island, NZ. Notice also the small remembrance plaque for WW2.

In an old gold mining town on the West Coast of the South Island, their small memorial is located besides the main road. The plinth also contained a separate memorial for the Boar War.
